I think of  creating a mask as a process rather than a product. The Life-Masking process is very relaxing and takes about 30 minutes to sculpt a Mask on a client's face. .

First, the area to be Life-Masked is coated with vaseline or plastic wrap. Next, pieces of a plaster gauze material are dipped in warm water and smoothed over the desired area. This sets quickly and the Life-Mask is lifted off.   The Mask is fragile at this stage, so it is strengthened, smoothed, and prepared.

The mystique then emerges from the Mask expressing the human spirit, a complex process. This may include engineering and sculpting, applying liquid metal and polishing, perhaps gold leafing, or incorporating gems or elements of nature... the planet is my palette.
